Whether it’s because of hot weather, a stressful day or a full-on gym session, sometimes we need make up and beauty products that work a little harder when we sweat.

If your mascara’s running, your skin’s come out in a heat rash, or your foundation is melting, consider giving one of these brands or products a go.

SportFX makeup and skincare

We’re big fans of the SportFX range for its affordable prices and wide product range. There’s everything from foundation and powders to face sprays and brushes. Our favourite products are the Cool Down Primer and Recovery Gel (£9.99) which really calms down a red post-workout face, and helps any make up you add over the top hold firmly; and the Shape Up Brow Pencil (£7.99) which is foolproof to apply, looks nice and natural, and stays put all day.

Eyeko Yoga Waterproof Mascara

If downward dog sometimes leaves you sweaty, Eyeko’s Yoga Waterproof Mascara (£19 or £10 for travel-size) could be the answer to your prayers. As well as being smudge-proof, it’s packed with botanical ingredients including fruit extracts and Vitamin E to treat your lashes with kindness.

Pretty Athletic skincare

If your skin’s taken a beating with sweat, suncream and general summer living, Pretty Athletic can really help calm things down. There’s a wide range of great skin products, but we rate the Workout Glow: Hyaluronic Vitamin Tonic (£17.50) which cleanses, nourishes and hydrates in one spritz. It’s vegan-friendly, packed with skin-kind ingredients such as Vitamin E and avocado and is also handy for plane journeys.

Epionce Daily Shield Lotion Tinted SPF50

Perfect for outdoor exercisers, Epionce Daily Shield Lotion Tinted SPF50 (£45) will simultaneously protect your skin from UV exposure while giving you a healthy glow and even skin tone. It’s very water resistant so you don’t need to worry about sweat, plus it’s suitable for sensitive skin.

Nouba make up

Nouba  specialises in waterproof make up, and this Nouba Waterproof Brow Powder (£11.99) won’t budge while you work out. As a bonus – you can also use it as an eyeshadow. The range also includes a waterproof eyeliner.

Oxygenetix Foundation

If you’re looking for a bit more coverage, Oxygenetix Foundation SPF 25 (£48) could be for you. It’s won heaps of awards as it’s not only sweat-proof, but it allows skin to breathe while you wear it and doesn’t clog pores. It also has lots of skin-friendly ingredients including grape seed extract and hyaluronic acid.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Workout make up range

e.l.f. has various items for gym bunnies, but our favourite is the Active Workout Ready Lip and Cheek Palette (£9). Breathable formulas make these high pigment shades sweat proof without clogging your pores.
